| Dragacevo monasteries |

Out of ten monasteries of the Serbian Holy Mountain three of these are situated in the area of Dragacevo - Monasteries of Sretenje, Sv. Trojice and Preobrazenje. The monastery of Sretenje dates as early from the XVI century. Its iconostasis, in terms of the material it was built of, represents a unique object among the monasteries of the Ovcar and Kablar Gorge. Two additional accomodation By its architecture the monastery of Sv. Trojice is the most attractive in appereance, not only among the monasteries of the Ovcar and Kablar Gorge, but also compared to all Serbian monasteries. The first written record of it was found as early in 1572. Its accomodation building was built in 1844. As regards the monastery of it was originally ![]() positioned on the opposite bank of the river Zapadna Morava (by 1911). It was built in 1938 at the spot where it stands today.In 1820 Vuk Karadzic visited all three monasteries. In 1967 the monasteries of Sretenje and Sv. Trojice were recognized as monuments of utmost importance in Serbian culture.
